Adolfo Gorra's career spans 32 years in structural engineering and construction. It began with a highly academic and unique technical high school education which centered on construction technology offering students proficient hands-on skill levels in all residential trades including drafting and design, concrete work, framing, electrical wiring, plumbing and HVAC. This led to an intense curiosity and appreciation for structural engineering. In the study and practice of structural engineering, Mr. Gorra has always incorporated a constructability mindset into design. His early experience included structural design and construction with his own firm encompassing many challenges with very demanding building departments in Southern California.

Engineering projects have included design of widely varied structures in the commercial, governmental, educational, religious, and custom residential fields. Construction experience includes structural steel fabrication and erection as well as construction project management.  In Colorado, he has engaged primarily in structural engineering as principal of Glenwood Structural and Civil, Inc., always with a strong emphasis on construction support, which has served to better understand local construction practices and therefore better apply his construction experience to structural designs in the local market.  He has also found his training as an ICC licensed structural steel bolting and welding inspector to be very valuable in the design process as well as construction administration and support services.

Mr. Gorra's structural engineering experience goes far beyond the projects and designs of the firm. On personal time, he has constructed two residences, an ADU, and a large private structural steel bridge. He enjoys operating heavy equipment and a good challenge is always in the works.

Mr. Gorra is licensed in the states of California and Colorado.  He is certified with the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) and belongs to the Glenwood Springs Kiwanis organization.  He is also ICC Ceritified Structural Steel Bolting and Welding Inspector.
